The blocks of color on these cookies are defined by the zigzag imprint of a fluted pastry wheel. You can duplicate the colors used here or come up with your own creative combination.



  1. Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Using a fluted pastry wheel, press an irregular grid into each cookie, being careful not to press all the way through the dough. Using a metal spatula, transfer the cookies to the prepared baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator or freezer until firm, about 15 minutes.
