- 250 g akub, thorns removed

- remove the stems from the akub flowers & place the whole stems and flowers in a large saucepan full of cold water
- bring to the boil & cook on a gentle heat for 15-20 minutes until soft, then drain & refresh under cold water & put aside to cool
