These steaks are rich and robust, with sautéed onions in a sauce evoking thoughts of a barbecue. Serve these with Six Pepper Slaw and Garlic Mashed Potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon

Method

  1. In a small heavy skillet (preferably cast iron), melt the butter. Add the onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium-low heat until the onions are wilted and slightly golden, about 15 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove the onions and set aside.
