Anyone privileged enough to grow their own potatoes scarcely needs to look further this month since a basket full of freshly dug potatoes can be so easily combined with another ingredient to produce a meal of great simplicity that ranks in the gourmet class.
Steam the washed potatoes until just tender. Meanwhile fry the bacon until crisp. Cook the peas in the cream until just tender and put together with the potatoes. Put in a serving dish, sprinkle with the bacon, fresh herbs and the seasoning.
