Groszek Zielony


  • 2 cups shelled green peas
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Water to cover
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon flour


Cover peas with water, add sugar and cook about 20 minutes until tender. Do not add salt while they are cooking because salt makes them tough. Cook uncovered to preserve color. There should be very little water left in the saucepan. Heat butter, blend in flour and add to peas. Salt to taste.
