It is possible to make ice cream without an ice-cream machine. The result will be slightly less light and creamy, but still very good. The procedure requires whisking by hand to break down the ice particles that form. You can make this using other fruits, as well, such as plums, cherries, peaches, apples, pears or raspberries, although you may have to vary the amount of sugar you add, depending on the fruit.
