This zesty caramel-colored sauce—the body of which is provided by puréed onion —contains an unusually hefty amount of sesame oil, the intensity of which is surprisingly modified. This quantity of sauce should dress 1½ pounds freshly cooked small asparagus, or string beans, or broccoli. Or pour it over sliced Oriental or red radishes and serve at once.
