If you were to cross an Alsatian onion tart and a Sicilian pizza you might come up with this plump, chewy pie. Served with a ripe tomato salad and crisp Italian white wine, it makes a lovely lunch or light supper; cut into small rectangles and offered with an icy Riesling or Gewurztraminer, it makes a luscious appetizer.
