A sweet bread that originated in Italy and is typically enjoyed during the holiday season, panettones are large cylindrical loaves that generally weigh 2 or 3 pounds. Unless you’re feeding an army, this amount of fruit-studded bread is doomed to be left over and forgotten. But by making a smaller batch, and individual servings, you get both fresher miniloaves and a more personalized treat.
