I love filling pupusas with whatever I have at home, as long as it involves cheese! Like chorizo, caramelized onion, sautéed spinach—use your leftovers and make something delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup [80 g] grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • cups [240

Method

Combine the cheese with the beans or vegetables.

Divide the masa dough into ten balls, each ½ cup (4 ounces [120 ml]).

Heat a large cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Coat your hands with oil to prevent the dough from sticking. With one ball in the palm of your hand, use your other thumb to create an indentation in the center. Pinch the sides to create a well
