This pie combines three things I love: bourbon, buttermilk, and grits. When I was growing up, buttermilk was a staple in my Aunt Yvonne’s kitchen. On Christmas Eve, all of the old folks would crumble fried cornbread into a tall glass of ice-cold buttermilk, salt the top, and eat it with a spoon.
