Bourbon Buttermilk Grits Pie

This pie combines three things I love: bourbon, buttermilk, and grits. When I was growing up, buttermilk was a staple in my Aunt Yvonne’s kitchen. On Christmas Eve, all of the old folks would crumble fried cornbread into a tall glass of ice-cold buttermilk, salt the top, and eat it with a spoon. To them, it was a real treat, their version of cookies and milk. Although this pie is an original recipe, it is directly influenced by the Loveless Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. Regarding the pie cr
