  • About
In addition to their world-class wines, Chileans drink a wide range of beverages including pisco (a type of grape brandy), pipeño (sweet fermented wine), beer, rum and many fruit juices and other soft drinks, along with mate, tea and coffee. As well as appearing in various cocktails, shots of pisco are often drunk neat, or infused with flavours from fruits such as cherries. Dried as well as fresh fruits appear in non-alcoholic beverages such as mote con huesillos (dry peaches with wheat berries), a refreshing summer drink/dessert that is enjoyed around the country.
