  • About
A baking tin, with a close-fitting cover in which there is a valve that opens and closes to enclose or let out the steam from the meat, has been on the market for some years. It is known as a Self-baster, and is made in block tin in varying sizes costing from 3s. IId. upwards. It should be obtainable from any ironmonger and is always stocked by the Civil Service Supply Association, Strand, London, England. It can be used also for baking bread and cakes. Directions for ‘roasting’ meat, etc., are given with each tin.
