Includes broccoli, broccolini, broccoli rabe, Chinese broccoli
Buying Choose broccoli with tightly closed and uniformly green florets. Broccoli rabe should have crisp, bright green leaves and flowers that are just beginning to open.
Storing Refrigerate in a plastic bag in the crisper for up to 4 days (wrap broccoli rabe in a wet paper towel).
Quick tip Buy precut fresh or frozen florets, or cut up a head of broccoli and store until ready to use.
Using Cooked broccoli, whether steamed or roasted, makes a great side dish. It can also be eaten raw with a dip, or added to soups and stir-fries. Sautéed broccoli rabe is a nice addition to pastas and pizzas.
