Buying Look for hard melons that are heavy for their size; the blossom end should yield to gentle pressure and have a sweet aroma.
Storing Let whole melons ripen at room temperature; once ripe, refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Quick tip Slice a ripe melon and refrigerate the slices in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Using Eat sliced melon as a snack; cube and add to salads; purée and add to beverages, or use in frozen treats.
