To scrape out the coconut flesh

Securely attach a coconut scraper to the work bench and place a bowl under the bladed spindle to catch the coconut scrapings. Hold the coconut half over the spindle and use your other hand to turn the handle. Turn the coconut until all the white flesh has been grated (be careful not to grate into the brown skin lining the shell).
NOTE: 1 medium coconut will yield approximately 250 g (9 oz) scraped coconut.
