This is a good way to appreciate young soya beans in the pod.
Separate the pods from the stalks if they are still attached. Trim off the stem end. Sprinkle the pods generously with salt and rub into the bean pods with your hands. Leave for 15 minutes.
Boil plenty of water in a large pan, then add the beans and boi over a high heat for 7-10 minutes, or until the beans inside the pods are tender but still crunchy. Drain immediately and refresh briefly under running water.
Serve hot or cold in a basket or a bowl with drinks. For extra saltiness, sprinkle with a little salt. To eat, it is acceptable to squeeze the pods with your teeth to push out the beans into your mouth.
