A favourite Japanese way of enhancing leftover rice is to pour boiling water with added flavouring over it. There are many different flavours of ochazuke no moto available, including salted salmon, cod roe, umeboshi (salted and dried Japanese apricots) and nori, and they are available in individual packets.
