  • About
A product of Suntory, Midori is a melon-scented liqueur, invented in 1978. The liqueur base is a grain spirit and the rest of the ingredients are a closely guarded secret. It has a densely sweet, fruity flavour and rich melon aroma. Oddly, Midori is more popular abroad than in Japan, and is sold mostly to America, Australia and Britain. Its clear, elegant green colour and refreshing melon taste make an unusual addition to cocktails, which are its main use. It is also, however, sometimes used in cakes and jellies.
