  • About

Sweet rice, pictured to the far right in the photograph, is a short-grain rice. This small opaque white rice is described as glutinous due to its sticky texture—not because it contains any gluten. Rice is naturally gluten-free. It is used to make sweet and savory dishes and can be combined with other rices. The consistency of the rice when cooked is chewy. It is sometimes also referred to by its Japanese name mochi gome.
