Take some old bread, with crusts or without, doesn’t matter. Cut it up into small cubes, sugar lump size. Deep fry them. Or fry them in an inch of veg oil in a saucepan. Once golden and delicious like Greasy Spoon fried bread, take them out with a slotted spoon straight on to a plate covered with a paper towel and sprinkle liberally with garlic granules and toss them about. We use these in the “Et Tu Brute? Murdering The Caesar” sandwich but they’d be good in tonnes of sarnies requiring some crunch. Feel free to experiment with other things from the spice rack sprinkled on them.
