  • About

These yellow flakes are commonly used to boost umami and “cheesy” flavor in plant-based recipes. A form of inert yeast, nutritional yeast contains 8 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber per 1½ tablespoon serving. Choose varieties that are fortified with B vitamins, such as Red Star or Bragg. Find it in the bulk section of your supermarket or in shaker-top containers in the herbs and spices aisle.
