REMARKS Maximum length 40 cm. The dorsal and anal fins each bear two black spots, not always very noticeable. The back is generally of a pale yellowish translucent colour. Found in the western Mediterranean, but not common, although it is present in fairly large numbers in the Ligurian Sea.
