Omphaliaster asterosporus (J.E. Lange) Lamoure syn. Clitocybe asterospora (J.E. Lange) M.M. Moser (illustrated 55% life size) Cap 1–2cm across, flattened convex or slightly depressed; brown to grey-brown and distinctly striate when moist, drying whitish. Stem 20–30Γ—2–3mm; concolorous with cap. Flesh pallid; thin; smell mealy. Gills slightly decurrent; lighter than cap. Spores 4–8ΒΌ in diameter, subglobose with sparse, blunt spines. Spore print white. Habitat amongst moss near pines; winter to spring. Rare. Unknown edibility.
