  • About

  • Almonds – beauty food Almonds look after the heart and help blood flow. I use them a lot to complement earthy dishes and they are great in desserts. In addition, almond oil is good for the skin and hair. This sweet nut is said to be connected to the vulva and fertility, thus the almond is an awakener to the womb.
  • Cashew Nuts – brain activator, beauty food Full of minerals and good fats, cashews are great for the brain, bones and mental health. I use cashews a lot to make creamy sauces.
  • Coconut Oil and Coconut Butter – beauty food, brain activator Coconut supports the thyroid, balances blood sugar and helps to eliminate toxins. It is antiviral and anti-fungal and full of healthy fats. If I have a cut in my mouth, I will gargle on coconut oil to help it heal. Coconut butter is the fat of coconut and I use it a lot in raw cakes.
  • Flaxseeds – brain activator, inflammation tamer Ground flaxseeds help to balance blood sugar as well as being a beautifier and a body cleanser. These tiny seeds are powerful and can be used to bind dishes instead of eggs.
  • Macadamia Nuts – beauty food, digestive aid, brain activator This nut is alkalizing, sweet and smooth, perfect for cakes and dips. Great for the skin and the gut. Macadamias are said to invoke creativity and imagination.
  • Olive Oil – brain activator, beauty food, metabolism booster This energizing and brain-powering oil is rich in antioxidants and great for hormone balance. If you can, buy organic olive oil. This ancient oil is known for wisdom and kings were anointed with it.
  • Sesame Seeds and Tahini – plant protein, beauty food, brain activator These seeds are an antioxidant, full of protein and B vitamins. They say this seed is the seed of immortality and when the gods met to create the world, they drank wine made from sesame seeds. Tahini is made from ground sesame seeds and is great for dips and sauces. I tend to use light tahini, made from hulled sesame seeds, as it’s smoother and creamier.
  • Sunflower Seeds – beauty food, energy food These seeds assist in lowering blood sugar levels and are full of magnesium and potassium. They say giving sunflower seeds to someone means that they will be loyal to you. They are associated with the sun, fertility and confidence.
  • Walnuts – brain activator, joy enhancer, hormone balancer I was told the reason these little nuts look like a brain is because they are great for brain health! Full of omega 3 fatty acids, which help reduce oxidative stress in the brain and lift your mood. Connected to the god of the sky and thunder.
