  • About
OK, so this one is painful and it really doesn’t get easier, but it works on SO many levels, and once you start the cold shower ritual, you become strangely addicted. I take cold showers to boost my immune system and since I have been taking them I have not had a cold. They are also fat-burning, as they boost your metabolism and mobilise brown fat. Most people don’t know this, but there are two types of fat in your body – brown fat and white fat. White fat is the body fat that we all hate so much. Brown fat is good – it generates heat and keeps your body warm. When you take a cold shower, brown fat is activated, resulting in an increase in energy and calories burned, to keep your body warm. According to studies, cold temperatures can increase brown fat by 15 times the normal amount, which can result in nine pounds of weight loss per year.
