  • About
There is lots of literature out there as to why fasting is good for you but I like to do a regular fast for many reasons. I really believe that it helps my body to re-set. It is one of the most powerful tools on the planet for reversing insulin resistance and stubborn weight loss, and it has long-term protective effects against neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Reducing insulin in the blood through fasting gives your cells a break, and improves resistance to it. I fast for different lengths of time; I normally do a 24-hour fast from lunchtime on Monday until lunchtime on Tuesday. Then I may do a couple of 16-hour fasts too, but I really try to do a 12 hour fast every day, so I eat supper by 8pm and don’t eat again until 8am.
