  • About
Rice cooks beautifully in a microwave. Do not cook more than about 375g (12oz) rice at a time and you need a deep bowl for the water as it bubbles up. Use the same proportions of long grain and brown rice to water as in the absorption method (left), and 1Β½ times the amount of water for basmati rice. Use these times: for long grain rice cook 7 minutes on High, then 8 minutes on Defrost; for basmati cook 6 minutes on High, then 4-6 minutes on Defrost; for brown rice cook 7 minutes on High, then 25 minutes on Defrost.
