Fructose: about 40 per cent for both. GI: also between 45 and 50. On both levels they should be used sparingly. I use them as treats, to drizzle over porridge, or stirred into homemade hot chocolate.

Our ultimate goal? To quit the sweet stuff as much as possible; to get our sugar bliss from natural sources, fruits (in moderation), vegetables and grains; and to treat sweet treats as treats.
