13-Cut “Pine Cone” Song-ta Method

Repeat the 6-cut simple method’s first step (see step 1 for reference).
Make 12 such cuts, and on the thirteenth cut, cut all the way through to remove the end piece (step 2).
Bring the two thick ends together one on top of another (about a ¼ inch/6 mm overlap), and press together into each other to create a large ring with the strands (step 3).
With a finger or two from each hand, hold the ring and rotate it so that the thick part of the ring is on the bottom (step 4). Then take the dominant hand’s finger out. You should be holding up the rings with your non-dominant hand.
