  • About
It’s always interesting to visit a larger quality outfit that totally cares about the welfare of the animals, with the end product in mind. Philip Dale, farm manager at Paul Rackham’s beef finishing unit just outside Norwich, met my friend Drew Barwick and myself and we slipped on our boots and headed towards the cattle, who seemed as if they were swanning around in a kind of holiday resort.
Manor Farm is a high-tech finishing unit for quality cattle purchased from all over England and Wales, to provide high-quality beef. They spend about 100 days in luxurious surroundings (for cattle). It has capacity to finish 2,500 cattle at a time, and currently 6,000 go through annually, mainly Herefords and Aberdeen Angus.
