  • About

In 1904 while people across the country were singing “Meet Me in St. Louis,” hamburger sandwiches were capturing the interest of people at the St. Louis world’s fair. They now dominate the American sandwich scene and every family has its own favorite versions. But we give you recipes for two “loose hamburgers,” or sandwich fillings that you spoon into buns. Barbecued Beef Filling, a cousin of hamburgers, is perfect for serving a crowd. (for other recipes for hamburgers.)
