  • About
  1. Salt.
  2. Pepper. I really think that, to make something good, you don’t need anything more than a good ingredient and salt and pepper.
  3. Arugula.
  4. Potatoes.
  5. Olive oil.
  6. Bread. [Silverton gave up her original choice of balsamic vinegar in order to bring bread.]
  7. Parmesan cheese. Everything about a baked potato, olive oil, Parmesan, and arugula with salt and pepper is so satisfying that I always say I could eat this every day for the rest of my life.
  8. Dried pasta. I love dried pasta. I love the texture, the toothiness. I love fresh ravioli, but too many times fresh pasta is gummy. It’s not always a benefit to make it fresh.
  9. Coffee. I have to have coffee. (See Nancy Silverton’s recipe for Coffee Ice Cream.)
  10. Red wine. I need red wine.
