  • About
Netting which was used to guard raspberries and strawberries from the avaricious birds in summer was often used in farmhouse kitchens for storage and drying purposes during the winter. It was twisted loosely round and round a stout stick which could be hung from hooks along the wall, or placed across two beams. The ‘pockets’ were filled with lemons, marrows, pumpkins and nuts.
