A Few Sweets

Here are a few sweets, some of which also employ almonds, or pine kernels, excellent with a glass of wine. They are of course ‘light years’ away from the feast-day fishes and lambs of Lecce and the inspired creations of the Caffè Alvino, the new proprietor of which has seen fit to exchange the original art nouveau décor for dull wood panelling; this somehow has affected the cakes.
