Cold brussels sprouts have become something of a byword for the culinary awfulness of Christmas. But my absolute favourite Christmas Day or Boxing Day supper is a bubble and squeak made by frying the leftover and roughly chopped sprouts with an onion and some mashed potato in a pan, then topping it with a fried or poached egg, and maybe some crisp, salty bacon.
And I know I said that cold turkey must be left to eat cold, not reformulated in any way, but here is the exception.
