Truth: There is no substitute for home cooking. Preparing your own food takes time, but it doesn’t have to take all your time, and there are things you can do to simplify plant-based food prep. Here a few things I keep in mind and that I regularly share with others on how to make meal planning easier and healthier.

Make grains and beans in batches. When you have cooked grains and legumes on hand, meal prep can be much easier. I like to batch cook a grain and bean every three days or so. I cook them according to directions, wait for them to cool, and then refrigerate them in a sealed container.
