  • About
Denmark is the second largest country in Scandinavia with a population of over five and a half million. The country sits on a large peninsula and includes several large islands and almost 450 smaller islands. Denmark’s government is a constitutional monarchy and the oldest kingdom in Europe. In the past, Denmark had mostly an agricultural economy, but industrialization has created a population shift to cities.
Danish cuisine is hearty and rich and the Danes eat more meat than their neighbors. Smorrobrod, Danish open-faced sandwiches, are recognized around the world and include hundreds of combinations. Danish farms produce pork and pork products and dairy farms provide butter and milk products prized for their richness.
