  • About
The story goes that Murdo Angus, a crofter from the west side of the island, was driving up to Ullapool one early July morning from his daughter’s wedding in Oban. From nowhere, a creature ran across the road and slammed straight into Murdo Angus’s blue van. In a state of shock, he stepped out of the van to examine what had hit him. Scratching his head, he looked down at a black and white animal he had never seen before, before realising it was a badger – and sadly it was dead.
He stood there crestfallen that he had killed this lovely-looking beast. But Murdo Angus loved to have a story to tell and thought to himself, ‘Well, I could take him home so everyone in the village can see it too.’ So, he carried the badger into the back of the van and set off for the ferry.
