  • About
We have learned so much over the years from people we’ve met traveling: countless street vendors, strangers chance-met in the street or on trains or busses, farmers, market people, and more. We don’t know your names, as you don’t know ours, but you tolerated our questions and photographs with good-humored patience and we are very grateful. Thank you.

This book probably wouldn’t be a book if it were not for the Isarankura family, who twenty years ago first took Jeffrey into their home and restaurant in Bangkok and introduced him to the pleasures of eating rice three times a day. There are many ingredients used in Thai cooking, but lots of love is one that is always added and never written down. Huge thanks too to Saratwadee Asasupakit of Chiang Mai.
