  • About
Mixing traditional and modern
The villagers in the small town of Gerzensee in the Berner Oberland could always tell the Christmas season had begun simply by opening their windows. They knew by the smell of spiced Lebkuchen from the ovens of Bäckerei Wegmüller, wafting through the town as the months turned cold.
The heart of that warm bakery is where Björn Wegmüller grew up, already the fifth generation of bakers. His great, great grandfather started the business in 1896 as a traditional Swiss bakery with bread and pastries - and, of course, Lebkuchen at Christmas time.
