  • About

Donnie MacDonald’s family have been crofters on the south-west of Skye overlooking Tarskavaig Bay, between Achnacloich and Tarskavaig, since the early nineteenth century when the villages were created. Donnie’s father, one of twelve children, left the villages to find work, but his family would return each Easter and for extended summer breaks. That is how Donnie learned all about fishing and crofting - and now he continues to appreciate the glorious views his ancestors enjoyed for decades from his house on the croft land overlooking the bay and across to Rum and Canna. On a clear day lie can see as far as Barra and South Uist.
