Chris Loye is a hugely talented young chef who, after training in Glasgow, worked in Ayrshire before setting out on his travels: to India, Thailand and Colombia and ending up in Australia, where, with his partner Nicola, he worked and picked up cooking tips from the great chefs there. His first job as head chef was on Thursday Island to the north of the Great Barrier Reef. After living the dream there, he felt it was time to return home to Scotland. There he worked with an agency which among other things catered on set for the Outlander series. He ended up in Harris in 2016 on seasonal cooking jobs; and that was when they decided to stay. They bought a house near the beach at Niseaboist on West Harris and started catering for guests on nearby self-accommodation holidays. After this they began to set up pop-up restaurants, both in their house, where they can seat up to 14, and in venues all over the island.
