Giorgi ‘Gogi’ Dakishvili is an accomplished winemaker and long-time champion of qvevri for winemaking. He produces organic wines under the Teleda Vita Vinea label with his sons, winemaker Temuri and the much younger Davit. Gogi is also a consultant nearby for the large German-owned winery, Schuchmann, where he has created a line of qvevri wines. Both cellars are in the Alazani Valley, where top Kakhetian wines are made. The Dakishvili’s microzone is the Kondoli Valley, south-east of Telavi at 350 and 400 metres (1,148 and 1,312 feet).
