  • About
The place of honey and its creators the bees in Ukraine is as old as the culture itself – and that is very old indeed. Some of the earliest documents from the time of Kyivan Rus (proto-Ukraine) refer to the regard that bees were held in. The Orthodox Church has a special veneration for the bee on account of its selfless work on behalf of others.
The modern frame beehive was invented in Ukraine in the early 19th century. Little wonder that Ukraine is the leading producer of honey in Europe (In the world’s top five producers) and recognised world-wide for its expertise in all aspects of bee-keeping and honey production.
