Cookbook author and TV chef (formerly "The Galloping Gourmet")

An important reference for me at the Royal Ascot Hotel. Ms Spry was a customer, she was the Martha Stewart of her day. Rosemary Hume did some really good work on the food for home cooks who needed lots of help after World War II.

Blogger at Raining Sideways

Rosemary Hume taught a very reluctant teenage student at Winkfield Place that cooking was a pleasure, an adventure, fun and not a chore. I still find myself returning to the pages of this old friend.

This book is filled with wonderful family recipes from preserves to picnics, but like all my favourite books, it also conveys a sense of the authors with its commentary.
