Crisp Pecan Topping


  • 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 stick), just barely melted


Preheat the oven to 350°F. Put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir until they form pea-sized clumps, adding more flour if necessary. Spread the mixture on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to break up the mix. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
