Method

Peel the apples, core them, and cut them into eighths.

Put the apple slices in a 2-quart saucepan with all the other ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook slowly for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool. Refrigerate, covered, until needed, for up to 2 da
