  • About

Nonna D is Jackie’s mom. (The D is for Dolores.) The oatmeal cookies we use in this recipe were her specialty. She baked them every Christmas, and the smell of the toasted oats and butter would fill the apartment with warmth and anticipation. She made them as drop cookies, spreading the batter in very thin circles. They were crisp and lacelike, and you could never eat just one. We miss her, and we hope that she would be excited to know her oatmeal cookies live on in this ice cream.</
