In a medium heavy saucepan, combine the brown sugar and water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the sorghum, bourbon, vanilla, and salt, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally so the bottom of the pan doesn’t scorch. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.
Pour the cooled syrup into a jar
